A Wild Suite Bringing the Fiercest Places on the Planet back Home

Roberto Cavalli was anything but timid when he presented his first collection in Paris back in 1970. In it, there were already the elements that would lead him to become an icon of fashion with a transgressive spirit: leather patchwork, fabric prints — his trademark — and a bold rock attitude. They are elements that have returned over time, in many couture and prêt-à-porter reflections, at times with the whipping force of novelty, others more expected and reassuring for an audience enamored by his exotic visions. It’s from this, from the look of the jungle, the savanna, and the wild places of this planet, that the maison continues to draw from when renovating its expressive language. The Wild Suite by Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors, a natural evolution of the Living Room presented in September 2020, is a varied and fluid atmosphere, wild like the forest, solid like the centuries-old plants that shape it, and full of creatures that shock and surprise with the color of their coats.

Composed of a bedroom, living area and working space, it traces the perimeter of an ideal living space with a rockstar spirit. Here, animal prints are reinterpreted in warm tones between gold, bronze and mostly dark browns: they are jaguars, tigers and zebras that run towards us in the metal partition walls, or that patiently await between the seats and decor. Then there’s the omnipresent snake, a leitmotif repeated across unexpected articulations. This is the stylistic approach of Fausto Puglisi, the brand creative consultant capable of simultaneously representing an archive researcher and the voice of a rediscovered vitality.

Coming center stage in the bedroom, the Morne bed flaunts an imposing headboard in glossy gray Carbalho wood, whose special veining recreates a pattern recalling that omnipresent serpent with scales, paired with the black leather of the bed frame and an embroidered monogram. The headrest clad in Wild Tiger velvet completes the picture, exalting the bold and welcoming character of the entire structure, where the impression is that of lying on the back of a sleeping feline. Accompanying the bed are night tables from the same line, featuring a rectangular body with rounded corners and a single drawer, always in glossy gray Carbalho.

Dominating the living room, we find the Darlington pouf with capitonné finish, presented with upholstery in black leather and cream-colored piping. In square form, the piece becomes an island to indulge in a bit of relaxation, reading and the simple pleasure of resting after a long day, or even to welcome friends for an informal cocktail. To complete the pouf are a series of cushions with a Wild Jaguar pattern in various sizes, made in leather with, once again, an embroidered snake.

Antigua is the central, scenographic element of the working space. A desk that embodies the quintessential style of Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors, it includes a tubular base composed of alternating modules with round and square profiles complete with a galvanic gold finish. In line with the overall design, its top surface and drawer come in glossy gray Carbalho wood, which is embellished by a leather cladding. Once more, the identity of the brand is underscored with unique handles in the form of a snake. The Key West chair, featuring a golden finish with a brass logo, completes the workspace; sinuous and round, its backrest clad in Wild Jaguar velvet is a comforting embrace for the long hours between meetings and projects in progress.

As a fun extra that rings like an ironic “welcome home”, a soft quilt welcomes the “United States of Cavalli” print created by Puglisi in homage to the designer. The American flag is transformed, as the stars make room for jaguar spots and the stripes become a zebra pattern in sepia tones.

Since 2012, Jumbo Group has produced the line of Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors, maintaining the highest quality standards of Made in Italy production, united here to the sensuality of a language experimenting and daring on every front.
